Ms. Katie Bassett

As the Vice President of Parks, Katie Bassett overseas progress and operations of The RiverFront in downtown Omaha. Bassett worked directly with design and construction teams to manage day-to-day operations, strategize future park developments, and balance the project construction budget during the capital construction of The RiverFront. Bassett is also a community liaison for The RiverFront, leading public outreach opportunities and ensuring communication with local stakeholders. Bassett has overseen the maintenance, operations, and activation of The RiverFront since Gene Leahy Mall's reopening in July of 2022. Bassett rejoined the Metropolitan Entertainment & Convention Authority (MECA) team in 2019, where she'd previously worked on the construction of Charles Schwab Field Omaha. After it opened, Bassett assumed the role of Charles Schwab Field's Stadium Manager; she also continued to lead major projects throughout the MECA campus. Bassett is a graduate of Dakota State University in South Dakota, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing & Management.
