Clay Adkisson is an urban designer and real estate developer dedicated to planning, designing, and developing innovative mixed-income housing in the southeastern United States. A native Nashvillian, Clay serves as a Managing Partner in Nashville-based design+development practice, OPENWORKS, focused on masterplanning transformative urban districts, delivering award-winning housing designs, and overseeing real estate development for large scale mixed-income projects.
Outside of his professional practice, Clay is an active member of ULI Nashville-- serving on ULI Nashville's Housing Action Council, and as co-chairman of the ULI Nashville Civic Leadership Forum (2021-2025). He also serves as Assistant Professor of Practice at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville where he co-leads the Urban Design program.
