Sherry Taylor is the Executive Director for Durham Community Land Trustees in Durham, North Carolina. She is a real estate professional with 15 years of experience in nonprofits, government, and the private sector. Sherry provides strategic direction and oversight to DCLT’s development projects, drawing from her background in commercial real estate and urban planning. She holds a MA in City & Regional Planning from the University of Pennsylvania and a MS in International Real Estate Development from Florida International University.
Sherry is currently leading two projects, CLTplusOne and Alma Street Commons. CLTplusOne pairs a land trust home with an accessory dwelling unit to increase the purchasing power of low and moderate income buyers. Alma Street Commons is a regenerative and environmentally sustainable affordable housing development that will pursue the rigorous Living Building Challenge green building certification.

Innovative Dwellings creates affordable infill housing by identifying opportunities for development in physical and financial spaces often overlooked. Through collaboration among for-profit and non-profit businesses, service providers and builders, homeowners, and entrepreneurs, we can offset the country’s current overwhelming need for additional housing units by pursuing development of small-scale housing projects together.
