Ms. Minjia Yan

Director of Investment Millennium Commercial Properties

Minjia Yan is the Director of Millennium Commercial Properties, a Las Vegas based commercial real estate firm, and is responsible for underwriting and securing debt and equity for investment and development projects in Southern Nevada and other states. She is also an adjunct professor at University of Nevada-Las Vegas (UNLV) Lied Center for Real Estate, teaching real estate investment. Minjia is passionate about placemaking and community development. She began her career in affordable housing and neighborhood revitalization in downtown Las Vegas, working with a local nonprofit to convert motels to transitional and permanent rental housing units for low income individuals and veterans with access to a food bank, medical and mental health services, and job training. She is currently working on the 3-mile long Spring Mountain Corridor/Chinatown Redevelopment Plan, the first comprehensive redevelopment master plan initiated by Clark County. Minjia is a committee member on the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC)'s Southern Nevada Strong Regional Plan and Transportation Resource Advisory Committee. She was honored by Business Insider as one of the "2020 Rising Stars of Real Estate" and by Commercial Property Executive magazine as one of the "Stars to Watch'' in 2022. She is a board member of The Mob Museum, UNLV Lee Business School Alumni Chapter, and Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) Chamber of Commerce. She also serves on the Channel 13 community advisory board and Urban Land Institute Americas Women's Leadership Initiative executive committee. She holds a master's degree in real estate with a concentration in finance and investment from New York University and a bachelor's degree in accounting from University of Nevada - Las Vegas.

Topics include innovative urban planning approaches, transit-oriented community, equitable community engagement strategies, economic development and policy tools, and public/private AND community partnerships that can support the revitalization efforts while maintaining the authenticity and vibrancy of Chinatown neighborhoods.
