As both a licensed Architect and Structural Engineer in the state of California, Melissa has a broad perspective on the building industry and design expertise from seismic to hurricane regions. At WoodWorks, she broadened engagement with real estate developers through ULI partnerships, has led mass timber programming at national events, and contributed to numerous ULI publications. She coauthored the Mass Timber Business Case Studies, evaluating the financial performance of U.S. developments. More recently, Melissa has led efforts to expand wood systems into the industrial sector. She serves on the Sustainable Development Council.
