As both a licensed Architect and Structural Engineer in the state of California, Melissa has a broad perspective on the industry and design expertise from seismic to hurricane regions. Over the past five years, she helped expand WoodWorks’ audience to include real estate developers and generated content related to wood’s contributions to a low environmental footprint, biophilic design, circularity, and wildfire resilience. Melissa co-authors the Mass Timber Business Case Studies which analyze how mass timber can help create value for developments. She manages WoodWorks’ ULI Greenprint Innovation partnership and is former Vice-Chair of the Sustainable Development Council.
