Mr. Javier Paredes

Javier Paredes is an award winning architect and founding principal of StudioMassivo, a design and development firm obsessed with practical beauty and projects that articulate a deep sense of cultural and environmental stewardship. He has 15 years of design experience delivering Cultural Projects for Public Institutions, ranging from small $500K renovations to +$100M New Construction. His work spans South Texas from the design of a Folklorico Performing Arts Academy in the heart of Brownsville, Texas, to most notably his lead role in the $125M restoration of San Pedro Creek Culture Park. Prior to founding StudioMassivo, Javier led one of the largest minority owned design firms in Texas to secure over $500M in construction value for public commissions, and was in charge of shaping the Firm's design pipeline focusing on projects of high Impact and cultural significance. This tradition continues to drive StudioMassivo, and has expanded his unique position to cultivate ideas, broker partnerships, and steer design impact across Texas. Javier received his Masters of Architecture from the University of Texas - San Antonio, where he remains engaged with the College of Architecture serving as mentor and juror for Student Projects. He understands the power of Intersecting mass transit and housing to shape dynamic and human-centric cities. Javier is deeply involved in ULI San Antonio serving, he serves on the Advisory Board, and co-chairs the Impact Committee driving local ULI initiatives. He also serves on the boards for VIA Metropolitan Transit and the Alamo Area MPO. Javier has chosen to focus his work at the intersection of infrastructure, culture, and people.

Homeless to Housed: Showcase of Innovation

Over the past year, ULI district councils in five communities launched projects to catalyze the production and preservation of deeply affordable housing for individuals experiencing homelessness. Each team will share insights and replicable lessons learned through a series of rapid-fire presentations, followed by an interactive open house for casual discussions and deeper engagement.
