Mrs. Fabiola Yurcisin

Director, Terwilliger Center for Housing Urban Land Institute

Fabiola Alvarez Yurcisin is a bilingual urban planner and affordable housing strategist with over a decade of experience advancing equitable development in the U.S. and Mexico. She currently serves as Director at the Urban Land Institute's Terwilliger Center for Housing, where she has led technical assistance efforts in more than 18 cities, helping local governments overcome development barriers while fostering public-private partnerships that deliver strong returns. Previously, she co-led placemaking initiatives in Monterrey, Mexico, where her work catalyzed over $10 million in investment and was recognized at the 2016 Venice Biennale of Architecture. Fabiola holds a Master's in Urban and Regional Planning from Georgetown University, a BFA in Fibers and Material Studies from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and a BA in Business Administration from the Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey. As an AICP-certified planner and experienced leader, she combines creativity, strategy, and placemaking to increase housing supply in every project she leads.
