Alex Marte is a Senior Development Manager at Gilbane Development Company, where he supports the company’s affordable housing platform in New York and corresponding pipeline, including project concepts, community engagement, and financing strategies. Alex has ten years of experience, including leveraging affordable housing tax credits and subsidy sources, financial feasibility and risk mitigation, and community engagement strategy. His notable projects at Gilbane Development Company include Linden Grover Senior Apartments in Brooklyn, New York and the Belmont Crossing multi-phase redevelopment in Washington, D.C. Prior to joining the company in 2021, Alex managed a TD Bank portfolio of $200 million in construction loans for new construction and preservation of affordable housing projects throughout the East Coast. He was a project manager for the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development, and conducted scope development, underwriting, financial analysis, and compliance procedures to close on $50 million of City capital for construction and permanent financing and $110 million of equity raised from 4% and 9% LIHTC, State Low-Income Housing Credits (SLIHC), and Historic Tax Credits.
