Of the $5.5 billion mix of investments being made at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), the Automated People Mover (APM) and its connection to the L.A. Metro system is one of the most anticipated and regionally impactful for Los Angeles. The APM is an electric train system on a 2.25-mile elevated guideway with six total stations that will transport 30 million passengers per year. In addition, L.A. Metro is building the Airport Metro Connector (AMC), the ninth station along the Crenshaw/LAX Line that will connect directly to the APM and feature an active transportation hub, passenger drop-off area, and extensive bus plaza. This tour will take participants to several of the people mover stations before the system’s official opening in 2024.
