Global Capital Flows into the U.S. Living Sectors

Cross-regional capital flows totaled US$30.5 billion in the first half of 2023, down 52 percent from the first half of 2022. This can be attributed to less capital flows from North America into the European markets amid high interest rates, constrained debt markets and economic uncertainty.

While cross-regional capital flows are down, there is dry powder on the sidelines and investors are eager to deploy into the U.S. living sectors. The ultrawealthy are increasingly turning to the living sectors as an investment.
