Ms. White is Chair of the firm’s D.C. Real Estate transactional group. She concentrates her practice in development, joint ventures, acquisitions, dispositions and financings of commercial properties in the DC metropolitan region as well as nationally. Her practice includes transactions involving office, hotel, retail, multi-family and mixed use properties. She has experience in all kinds of financings, including construction, term, and mezzanine loans, secured and unsecured lines of credit, and ground leases. Her clients include listed real estate investment trusts, public and private local, national and international companies with investments in the US, and nonprofits.

Ms. White founded the real estate practice group in DC for MMM and was the co-managing partner of the DC office.

Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, LLP – March 1981-April 2014

Ms. White started her legal career in Washington at Shaw Pittman Potts & Trowbridge, where she started as an associate out of law school, was elected a partner, and eventually rose to chair the DC real estate practice and to serve for 5 years on the Managing Board of the merged firm, Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman. 

Ms. White sits on the Boards of Directors of Chevy Chase Trust Company (a private trust company with over $30 billion of assets under management), the Girl Scout Council of the Nation’s Capital, and MedStar Georgetown University Hospital.  She also sits on the DC Steering Committee of 2020 Women on Boards and the Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI) of ULI Washington.  She served as the General Counsel of The Economic Club of Washington, D.C., for 10 years, ending in 2018, and currently serves on its Board.  She is a past President of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) of Washington, D.C., and a past officer and board member of the International Women’s Forum (Washington, D.C. chapter).  Ms. White also served on the Board of Trustees of Washington Real Estate Investment Trust, the oldest public REIT in the country, for 8 years, ending in August 2016, and chaired the Corporate Governance/Nominating Committee for 6.

Community Involvement

Ms. White’s current community involvement includes service on the Board of the Girl Scout Council of the Nation’s Capital.  She has served on the luncheon steering committee for the Youth in Real Estate Awards Luncheon benefitting the BGCGW since its founding in 2005, served as Chair of the event in 2013 and 2014, was an honoree in 2016, served on the Board of BGCGW until 2018, and also has provided pro bono legal services to the BGCGW.

Ms. White is married to a retired NASA satellite electronics engineer and freelance photojournalist and has 28-year-old twin daughters.  She grew up in Miami, FL, with 5 brothers.
