Varun is managing director in Southern California, where he’s responsible for the acquisition, capitalization, diligence, entitlement, development, and asset management of commercial, residential, industrial, entertainment, and mixed-use projects in Los Angeles, the Inland Empire, and Las Vegas.
Varun’s notable projects include West Edge, a mixed-use project in West Los Angeles consisting of 600 apartment units, 200,000 square feet of office and 100,000 square feet of retail; Hollywood Wilcox, a 260-unit apartment community development that comprises the historic preservation of the Attie Building; Burbank Media Studios, Hines’ first studio acquisition; and Hollywood Toyota, which includes entitlement advisory for 350 apartments and 150,000 square feet of commercial space.
He currently leads the Hines West Region DEI taskforce and is actively involved in the firm’s OneHines and myCommunity initiatives.
Varun was graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Harvard University where he also served as a member of the Harvard Crimson Business Board and owned The Quincy Grille restaurant.
