Based in Southern California, Peter Stone is responsible for originating, evaluating, and structuring investments and overseeing commercial operations in Brookfield Infrastructure’s container port segment. In addition, Peter manages Brookfield Infrastructure’s Government Affairs activities in California. Prior to joining Brookfield in 2011, Peter worked in the liner shipping and marine terminal business with a focus on commercial and business development building transportation networks to serve overseas production. Previously he was the Chief Commercial Officer of Ports America which followed positions in the US and Asia with NYK Line and P&O Nedlloyd. Notable Brookfield transactions include the acquisition and automation of TraPac LLC. Prior to shipping, Peter worked in the airline industry in operations, pricing and yield management with carriers including Virgin Atlantic, Continental, and China Airlines. Peter holds a BA and MBA from City University of New York – Baruch College.

The ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach make up 75 percent of the West Coast’s market share and provide more than 2.5 million jobs throughout the United States. Not only are the two ports major economic drivers in Southern California and beyond, but they are also catalysts for change in logistics infrastructure and sustainability. This session will bring together panelists to discuss actions the Los Angeles and Long Beach Ports are taking to become more efficient and competitive with ports around the world.
